The big-framed Mexico-born stallion Riscal LS La Silla provides the breeders with a highly interesting outcross option.
His sire, Argentina-born Risueño La Silla was a highly successful sport horse himself. Already as a foal he had sustained a fracture of the pelvis. But despite this handicap and due to his great resilience, he became an internationally successful sport horse and was shown and succeeded at the biggest and most important venues in the world. Risueño La Silla’s competition career is characterized by achievements in Calgary or Aachen and he was the Mexican team’s most successful horse at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. During his entire career, he particularly stood out for his willingness to work, his resilience and durability and his great jumping ability. His interesting bloodline goes back to several generations of TB stallions with outstanding successes on the race track and as sport horse sires and is characterized by illustrious TB names like Charlottesville,Dante or Hyperion.
Riscal’s dam Classic La Silla used to be the Romo children’s highly successful instructor for years. Classic La Silla’s sire Formateur is by the Holsteiner Pol, under the name of Polaris a highly successful stallion in the Dutch breeding programme. Other than Riscal, Classic La Silla also produced Elco and Talento LS, both successful sport horses at international level in France. Classic’s dam Sillie-Maria II is by TB stallion Santa Luigi.
Riscal has his sire’s tremendous willingness to perform. For years, he has been the preferred horse in the stable of his ower-rider Alfonso Romo and they achieved a number of international successes in Mexico as well as in Europe.
The stallion excels by his great jumping ability, good technique, great rideability and competitive attitude. In addition to his achievements in equestrianism and his highly interesting bloodline, the stallion boasts an excellent top line.
The La Silla stud owns several Riscal offspring out of Holsteiner bloodlines which excel as jumpers.
