Don Ricoss

Don Ricoss is a modern young dressage stallion, equipped with three first-class paces and an outstanding character & attitude to work.

He was Champion of the 30 day test at Neustadt-Dosse with a dressage index of 8.84.

He has had an excellent competition career to date, being Vice Champion 3 yr old Hanoverian Stallion at Verden & also qualifying for the Bundeschampionat as a 3, 4 and 5 year old. In 2007 he was nominated for the World Championships.

His first class talent have given him several wins & high placings in A & L classes with excellent scores including at the International Competition in Elmlohe.

His first foals have shown to have inherited his elegance & 3 very good paces & have been very successful at foal shows in Germany taking Champion & Vice Champion titles, as well as several top placings.

Grand Dam State Premium Erina, by Hanoverian Stallion of 1999 Eiger I, produced the licensed dressage stallion Wallstreet Kid (by Warkant, USA) and his full sister Windsor Queen, who is the dam of Advanced level Licensed dressage stallions Will Be (by Wittinger) and the Licensing and Bundeschampionat Champion Londonderry. The latter is currently considered to be a foundation sire.

Another Erina granddaughter Lawalda (Lauries Crusador xx/Warnet) was sold at the 2006 Elite Verden Foal Auction for 65.000 Euros.

This dam line,k is grounded in the Holsteiner Family 8116, also produced the licensed stallion Amoural (Pb, Rhineland Pfalz-Saar) and Dante Alighieri (AUT).

Don Ricoss has had a brilliant start to his competition career in 2005 winning 4 times at some of Germany’s largestg competitions for youing horses as well as qualifying for the 2005 Bundeschampionat.

Don Ricoss is trained by Eckhard Wahlers in conjunction with Hans Heinrich Meyer Zu Strohen.

Isobel Bache who put in the stunning performance at the 2005 Bundeschampionate on the 5 year old mare Funny Girl to win second place with 9.0 has agreed to ride Don Ricoss for the 2006 competition season.

Isobel who is based at Holga Finken’s stables will ride him competitively from January 2006, starting with his ;first competition of the year at the CDN in Verden.

Don Ricoss was the winner of the dressage section of his j30 Day Test at Neustadt-Dosse in 2005.

He was the ONLY 3 year old to get marks of greater than 9.0 for both trot and canter, out of 309 3 year olds tested in 2005.
