The strong stamping stallion Florestan belongs to the NRW state stud. He won both his stallion approval in 1998 and his performance test in 1989. His sire Fidelio carried the strong genetic heritage of the Selle Francais sire Furioso II. His dam was a champion show mare whose blood lines trace to the Hanover State.
Floristan has proved to be a fantastic sire, producing top sport horses all over the world, from a variety of mares including thoroughbreds. They are very trainable, rideable and are easy to handle.
In 2007 the Hanoverian Stallion Books recorded Florestan as having 1620 registered competition offspring with winnings of close to 1 million euro. There were 846 dressage competitors, 63 up to S level and 193 jumpers. Florestan FN index for dressage is 146 and 102 for jumping.
In 2004 Florestan sired both the 5 year and 6 year old world young horse dressage champion. He has over 75 approved stallion sons and 186 state premium daughters. His offspring are top sellers at the German auctions.
