Up-and-coming star performer in dressage ...
... and we are sure to see more of Dream of Heidelberg II who will doubtlessly develop into perfection. After serial victories – he won seven dressage horse tests and four dressage tests of medium level – also in 2004 the big-framed son of Donnerschlag reached the finals of the Federal Championships of German dressage horses. For 2005 the first starts in the advanced class are on the agenda - probably no problem for Dream of Heidelberg II, if the impressions from his schooling are anything to go by.
Apart from his quasi optimal basic paces, the secret of his success lies in his phantastic scores for ridability. With his overall appearance Dream of Heidelberg II represents the ideal type of the modern dressage athlete.
In 2001 he passed his 30-day-test with higher than average scores, while the second part of his stallion performance test was passed in a convincing manner in many dressage competitions.
His sire Donnerschlag is a son of the already legendary Donnerhall and was internationally successful in dressage tests up to Grand Prix level. Dream of Heidelberg has an elder half brother who already produced Dormello, a winner of the stallion approval test. In the meantime, Dormello has also convinced the breeders by the quality of his offspring.
His dam Zoliante is one of the most successful mares in the Rhineland breed and passed on her unparallelled leg action to all her descendants. Her daughter Goliante (by Telstar) produced Del Vento by Donnerwind, an approved stallion tested in performance class I. The dam’s sire Heidelberg, raised in Holstein and an approved son of the line founder Ladykiller xx belongs to the upper class of Dutch sires. With Eyecatcher (ridden by Leslie Burr-Lenahan) and Ewald (ridden by Emiel Hendrix), grand-dam Ramona delivered two internationally successful jumping horses.
All descendants of Dream of Heidelberg II follow in their father’s footsteps and show his excellent dynamic movements. In 2004 he was the sire of the winning filly foal of the Elite championships of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was simultaneously the foal with the highest scores in that year in the Mecklenburg breed. The filly bred by Helmut Frahm at Spitzkuhn from a dam by Juventus-Astor knew to impress not only by excellent movements but also by her brilliant type. Two more Elite foals and numerous premium foals are the proof of the excellent siring qualities of Dream of Heidelberg II. |
