Pure Jumper performance! In 1992 his sire,
Coriano, was leased by the Holstein Verband to Baden-Wurttemberg for
two years. In 1996 Coriano won silver at the Bundeschampionat.
When he was seven, he placed in S-level to Grand Prix. The end of
2002 he was leased to the Belgian Gestut Zangersheide where he won
the championships for junior riders under Judy Ann Melchior. In 204
he returned to Holstein. So far, Coriano has sired 17 licensed sons
and numerous off-spring that have been highly successful in sport
such as the current team world champion in show jumping, Van
Schindel’s Curtis/Piet Raymakers/NED. The dam, Romanze, produced
successful dressage horses as well as jumpers by various stallions.
The dam’s sire, Ricardo, Elite stallion in Baden-Wurttemberg,
produced four licensed sons of which Ringo Starr/Ludwig Ziegler,
Risandro/Samatha McIntosh/Bul and Ratsherr/Toni Hassmann compete
internationally. Through the Thoroughbred stallion Ladykiller, the
third generation sire, Labrador, is a three-quarter brother of
Landgraf, a stallion of the century. The third generation dam,
Tanzerin, produced a licensed stallion named Rico (by Ricardo; State
Stud Marbach). Cyrano de Bergerac comes from the Hanoverian
performance line of Ahnenflamme (by Ahoi-Dekan, etc.) which is also
known for the double Bundeschampion, Rusti (PB Oldenburg).
Franks Sloothaak: “A top athlete like Cyrano
de Bergerac is always distinguished by a number of naturally given
attributes such as character, rideability, movement potential,
attitude and ambition as well as an outstanding jumping sequence
paired with fast power and enormous jumping ability, caution and the
ability to regenerate quickly. Cyrano de Bergerac’s success all the
way up to World Cups, is the logical consequence of the extremely
esteemed genes he has inherited. His foal crop last year with three
show winners, a Reserve Champion and a number of foals that received
a premium once again shows that he passes on the traits for movement
he inherited from his dam line, making him a jumper-maker who also
passes on good movements.”
Show Results:
Cyrano de Bergerac placed with high scores as
a 5 and 6 year old at show jumping level A through M. AT M-level he
was announced the winner at the qualification for the Bundes
Championat under his rider Franke Sloothaak with a score of 9.0. As
a 7 year old he was prepared, by his rider Frank Sloothaak, for the
international sport. That’s how he was next to numerous high place
S-level, also 2nd at the finales of the Audi Cup for
